Founded by Devin Grimes, Devy Mortals Studios represents 15 years of independent creativity, self-taught design, persistence, and an unwavering commitment to bringing original ideas to life.
Our Story: 15 Years of Creating Without Limits
Devy Mortals Studios was built from the ground up through years of personal sacrifice, independent learning, and an endless passion for creating.
For the past 15 years, I have been designing, experimenting, constructing, painting, filming, and developing my own creative concepts—largely on my own, without a team or traditional fashion education.
Over the last four years, I have invested approximately $5,000 of my own resources into developing Devy Mortals Studios, alongside the support of one investor who believed in my vision and helped me move forward.
My sourcing and development journey has extended across Hong Kong, Italy, and my own hands-on creative process. From researching materials and studying manufacturing to developing designs and building products from scratch, I have learned through experience, books, experimentation, and persistence.
Every step has been an opportunity to turn an idea into something tangible.
An Education Built Through Creativity
My academic journey includes a bachelor's degree in graphic design and the pursuit of a master's degree in business administration. While I did not attend fashion school, I developed my fashion knowledge through independent study, observation, research, and hands-on practice.
I learned by studying the work and creative philosophies of influential designers and artists, including Virgil Abloh, Pharrell Williams, Marc Jacobs, Rick Owens, Yayoi Kusama, Vivienne Westwood, Takashi Murakami, and Alexander McQueen.
Their approaches to art, fashion, culture, and innovation encouraged me to think beyond traditional boundaries and develop my own creative language.
Fashion became something I taught myself through dedication, curiosity, and the willingness to keep learning.

Building Everything From the Ground Up
Devy Mortals Studios is not simply a brand I operate. It is a creative world I have personally built.
I design my own products, develop concepts, construct pieces from scratch, manage my sourcing, and create the visual content that introduces my work to the world.
I advertise, photograph, and videotape my own content. I develop my own strategies, experiment with new ideas, and continuously find ways to maximize the potential of my art and business.
From the first concept to the finished creation, I remain deeply involved in the process.
This independent approach has challenged me, but it has also allowed me to develop a unique perspective and creative identity.
The Investment Behind the Vision
Building a creative business independently requires more than imagination. It requires time, resources, learning, and the courage to keep investing in an idea before the world fully understands it.

My resources have been limited, but my commitment has remained strong. I have continued to develop new products, explore international sourcing, refine my designs, and create opportunities for the brand to grow.

There have been personal sacrifices along the way, but creativity is something I genuinely love. The process of developing new ideas and bringing something original into existence gives me purpose.
I approach this journey with humility and remain grateful for every person, resource, and opportunity that has helped me move forward. My goal is to continue expanding my art, creating meaningful products, and discovering how far dedication, creativity, and independent thinking can take me.

For the past 15 years, I have dedicated myself to creating art, developing designs, and discovering new ways to bring my imagination into the physical world. I taught myself through books, research, experimentation, and years of hands-on experience—from designing and constructing garments to developing handbags, painting, and producing creative content.
Everything I create starts with an idea, but bringing that idea to life requires commitment.
